Professional Associations by Major

Have you ever heard of the American Bar Association, the American Psychological Association, or the American Management Association? These are all professional associations, organizations that are dedicated to serving professionals in specific fields of work. As an emerging professional, it may be very beneficial to join a professional association! Professional associations are much like business leagues. Regardless of your field of work, there is sure to be a professional association for you!

Once you become a member of a professional association, you have access to the association’s resources to help improve your skills, further your education, and keep up to date with the latest developments in your field. Professional associations can provide you with a network of ambitious, like-minded leaders in your field of work and/or study! Having a professional association on your resume also shows employers that you are committed to furthering your profession. Additionally, professional associations often host events such as workshops, banquets, and galas to increase public knowledge about the field, raise money, and provide opportunities for members to expand their networks.

Our new resource lists approximately 10 professional associations at the local, state, and national levels for each of the majors in the O’Neill School. Check it out!
