Fall 2024 Career Fair Registration is Now Open!
Indiana University’s College of Arts and Sciences and O’Neill School are collaborating on events this fall and invite you to join us on the Bloomington campus! Whether you’re looking to build your brand awareness on our campus or are actively seeking candidates from the best talent pool in the Midwest — our career fairs have something for you! You can look forward to meeting students with a unique combination of studies, skills, and experiences that can help move your organization forward. Students from all stages of their undergraduate and graduate careers attend our fairs to learn about your organization, gather information, and actively seek out opportunities.
This fall, we are pleased to offer a variety of career fairs you can choose to attend! Our “All Industry Career & Internship Fair” on Wednesday, September 25th is an opportunity to promote a variety of roles and gain exposure a diverse student population. This is our largest event this fall hosting over 100 organizations at Alumni Hall in the Indiana Memorial Union.
All Industries Career & Internship Fair
September 25, 2-6 p.m. • Register Here
Our industry-oriented fairs are purposely limited to 15-20 organizations to provide a more focused environment that fosters connection between students and employers with shared interests and goals.
Consulting Careers Focus Fair
Tuesday, Sept 17, 2pm-5pm
Retail Career Fair
Wednesday, Sept 18, 3pm-7pm
Environment Careers Focus Fair
Tuesday, Oct 1 2pm-5pm
O’Neill School Tabling
Join us in one of our common spaces to engage student in-between classes. Organizations will be provided with a table and should bring logoed table cloth and any information, refreshments, or swag for students. There is no change for tabling, however members of our Employer Partnership Program have first choice of dates/times. Tabling is available during the academic year and can be requested through Handshake using the following instructions:
- Log into Handshake and create an event.
- Name your event with your organization’s name and “O’Neill School Tabling” in the title
- Select: School = “Indiana University Bloomington”, Career Center = “O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs Career Hub
- Provide a short description of your organization and what opportunities you will be promoting. Be sure to mention here if you will be providing snacks or swag (not required).
On-Campus Interviews
Let us host you for on-campus interviews! Interview rooms are managed through the Handshake platform. Be sure to select “IU Bloomington” as the school and “O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs Career Hub” as the career center. Please select “room only” schedule if you prefer students sign-up for your interviews through a recruiter or another platform. There is no change for interview rooms, however members of our Employer Partnership Program have first choice of dates/times.

DEI Recruiting Best Practices
At the O’Neill School, we’re committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community for everyone who engages with our institution—placing justice and equity at the core of our mission and values. Each of our signature Career Focus Fairs include a “Diversity Meet & Greet” where hiring organizations share with our students their commitment to DEI. We invite you to explore our best practices for engaging with our diverse group of talented students.
With the expansion of job boards and employers on campus, students are inundated with messages from organizations. By showing a continuous presence on campus (in-person or virtually) where your commitment to DEI is clearly articulated students will remember your organization when it comes time to apply to internships and jobs.
In addition to creating internship programs, in Diverse Issues in Higher Education, Christine Cruzvergara and Michael Ellison suggest that promoting early id or pre-internship programs to expose students to your organization’s culture and career pathways. The O’Neill School offers opportunities to engage with students as early as 1st-year orientation!

Attract Talent with a Strong EEO Statement
While the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission outlines the illegality of discriminatory hiring practices, including a personalized EEO statement on your job/internship posting can aid in attracting talent. Use Inclusive Language and Avoid Idioms and Jargon
Instead of pronouns in your job description utilize gender neutral terminology to avoid alienating part of your audience. Similarly, common sayings and industry language may be lost in translation leading to an ineffective message to your potential applicants.
