The goal of the Middle Eastern Student Association (MESA) is to promote and educate Indiana University about the cultures, languages, history, religions, diversity and people of the Greater Middle East. MESA does not associate itself with any religious or political ideologies, but instead seeks to create a welcoming environment and offer membership to all students and faculty at Indiana University rather than just those of Middle Eastern background. MESA strives to diversify the Indiana University campus by connecting it to the diaspora of the Greater Middle East while fostering and building a community of individuals who harbor a similar interest in the region.
